October 2011 at Mastin Lake Church

October 2011 has been an incredible month in the Lord. The Mastin Lake ladies met for a ladies night; and we had a Friends and Family day where we honored Bro. Jim Seymour and had our state overseer Bro. L.V. Jones in attendance. As a member of the Alabama Food Bank (http://www.alfoodbanks.org), Mastin Lake Church provided groceries to approximately 30 families (represents approximately 120 people) in the Huntsville community; plus, we are on the food bank’s waiting list to become FDA certified so that we can obtain meat products to hand out to folks through our Food Pantry. Our Feed the Family ministry fed a hot meal to 40 – 50 church and community people at 6 PM each Wednesday before church service, and we had 300 children and adults attend our Fall Harvest Celebration with carnival games, a cake walk, inflatables, free chili dinner, funnel cakes, and lots of candy. Since October was Pastor Appreciation month, several of the members blessed pastor John Paul Benning and family by taking them out to dinner at various times, and one member even took each of the Benning children on a shopping spree. The finale of October World Mission Month will be held on November 6th with an Italian Dinner fund raiser. To God be all glory and honor for providing Mastin Lake Church (www.mastinlakechurch.org) with a ministry to touch so many in the community for Him through Jesus Christ!
